WDWIT...10/29/13

The fit from yesterday was mediocre and I didn't really get to take pics as it was but today I liked it quite a bit. The challenge was wear a shawl cardigan, knit tie and denim. Since it's Tuesday for me, wearing denim although not against the rules on a Tuesday, professionally speaking I didn't think of it appropriate. Usually I wear denim Wednesday's and Friday's. I wore navy corduroy's which are becoming one of my favorite to wear.

And I finally took out a fresh pair of shoes that has been in their box for a couple of months. Gave my Ralph Lauren Sanderson's in chocolate brown a run today. The simple feel of these shoes on your feet is clearly evident versus that of other lower tier brands like Florsheim. The Ralph Lauren Sanderson's are actually manufactured by Allen Edmonds in the USA.

WDIWT...5/14/13 aka Felt Like Fall This Morning

It's the middle of May and the weather still hasn't figured itself out. It was about 37 this morning when we made our way out of the house...it doesn't feel like May it feels like late October. With the cold morning in mind and a high of 59 today, I went with heavier fabrics. Corduroy for the trousers although I will say that these Navy cords aren't too thick to wear in the Spring and a thick cotton shawl cardigan for a sweater. The Navy cords were a steal at $15 from H&M and I did the alteration (hem) myself, I always see black cords, gray cords but rarely see Navy cords so I scooped them up quickly when I saw them.

Details:
Sweater: Levis Off-White Shawl Cardigan via Levis Strauss Outlet-$15
Shirt: Merona White/Violet Bengal Stripe via Target-$6.50 (needs to be taken in still)
Trousers: H&M Navy Corduroy's via H&M-$15 (hem self done so that cost $0)

WDIWT...3/31/13

Easter Sunday and heading to church in a bit today, surprisingly my parent's want to go. Since other family is going I figured I'd go as well. Put together something simple what the basics that I packed. More on how to pack for a week in a carry-on soon. Pretty much everything I've worn throughout the week with the exception of the gray ribbed turtleneck and the shoes I'm wearing today is stuff that I packed and brought from home. I've meant to do a post on that for a bit, will soon though.

Details:
Sweater: Levis Off-White Shawl Neck Cardigan via Levis Outlet-$15
Shirt: Stafford White/Brown Gingham via JCP-$11.25
Trousers: Navy Gap "Tailored Fit" via Gap Factory-$15
Shoes: Tom McAn Black Tassel Loafers via Sears-$20

Sweater hides a poorly fitting shirt; which needs to be tailored.

Shirt needs to be taken in on the sides for sure

WDIWT...2/11/13

Decided to stick with shades of brown today and likely will be a theme for the week or at least for a couple of days. Wore a couple of recent pick-ups as well. Here you see that different shades of brown when put together can work. The shirt is the gingham shirt featured here and the trousers featured here. The shawl cardigan sweater is also a recent pick up, you can see it here and here. The shoes are a recent pick up from eBay and I really love the two-tone brown leather on these cap toes with the medallion by Florsheim.

Shirt: Stafford White/Brown Gingham via JCP-$11
Trousers: Merona Herringbone via Target-$8.80

WDIWT...2/28/13

To close off February...well actually I decided to keep it somewhat simple this week, with an emphasis on wearing outfits that did not include a tie. Granted most of my outfits this week I could have added a tie and made it a much dressier look. The no-tie look was just more personal preference, frankly just didn't feel like wearing one. Again, I kept it simple with navy, white, off-white and brown as my main colors..

Details:
Sweater: Levis Shawl Cardigan via Levis Outlet-$15
Shirt: Merona via Target-$25
Trousers: Gap 100% Cotton via Gap-$15

WDIW on Friday

Went to the Desert Hills Premium Outlet on Monday with my nephews and found this awesomely warm shawl cardigan sweater. Most surprising part was who it was made by, Levis. We usually think Levis and think denim but some of their other clothing s incredibly nice and very well made. The sweater is 100% cotton and fleece lined. The color is a off-white bone color. As it took up some space in my suitcase I decided to wear it on the airplane on my way back to NY.

Details:
Sweater: Levis Off-White Shawl Cardigan Sweater via Levis Outlet-$14.50
Shirt: Alfani White/Black Mini-Check via Macy's-$12
Jeans: Old Navy "Slim" Fit via Old Navy-$2.50
Shoes: Florsheim Cognac Imperial Wingtips via eBay-$25
