American Eagle Pick-Ups

Have had reservations about buying white denim as I've never been sure if I could "pull it off" but after trying them on I think I can. Definitely will be pairing it with darker or brighter colors atop. I also picked up this really nice white/navy gingham cotton tie.

Mother Nature needs to get it together, today it is in the mid-60s, gray and rain and tomorrow will be mid 80's, with Friday Thursday-Saturday being in the 90s...yea this weather is crazy. Had to make sure I stayed warm and dry for today, added the knit tie to remind myself that it is still Spring.

Went to Mohonk Mountain House today, the place is beautiful, to say the least. Took my wife for a day at the spa and dinner, she's worked hard and deserved it. After the spa her and I went for a walk around the grounds and we then changed into a more formal attire for dinner. Switching up from jeans and a sweater to a suit while leaving the shirt and shoes the same, is an example of versatility.

I have to admit I felt somewhat lazy in regards to what to wear today so I went with the cotton white/green check shirt I had already steamed in the closet, felt that it was too short to tuck the shirt in so I kept it untucked. Hindsight I probably should have tucked it in.

It is suppose to be a 86 degree day today in the city but it is still very gray outside, however it is incredibly humid...that you can even feel it inside. With this in mind I kept it with light color and fabrics again. The jacket, the shirt and shoes are things I've already had but the trousers I picked up a while back but the weather was too cold to wear them. They are an off-white with a faint pinstripe from H&M that I picked up for $5 or $10. Ended up picking out my least wrinkled shirt this morning and my one unstructured blazer, it's not the greatest combination in the world but I do like it. (This is what happens when you were going to wear jeans and then check that it's going to be 86 and decide to go with light clothing and mother nature still goes the cloudy route) The lighting sucks since I decided to take them inside today.

As the theme this week on NikeTalk Dressing Better thread seems to be wearing suits for no reason, I figured I join. Although I do have a reason for wearing one today, parent association meeting this evening but even then it is usually "too much" even for a parent association meeting as well no one wears suits to work at my job. Personally I feel comfortable in a suit, regardless of where I'm at. Took some quick pictures and I probably should have not put my hands in my pocket.

WDIWT...5/14/13 aka Felt Like Fall This Morning

It's the middle of May and the weather still hasn't figured itself out. It was about 37 this morning when we made our way out of the house...it doesn't feel like May it feels like late October. With the cold morning in mind and a high of 59 today, I went with heavier fabrics. Corduroy for the trousers although I will say that these Navy cords aren't too thick to wear in the Spring and a thick cotton shawl cardigan for a sweater. The Navy cords were a steal at $15 from H&M and I did the alteration (hem) myself, I always see black cords, gray cords but rarely see Navy cords so I scooped them up quickly when I saw them.

WDIWT 5/5/13...This Blazer Needs Some Work

Another nice day in New York but the sun is deceiving as it's in the mid to high 60's. I didn't know what to wear so stuck with blues, a light navy chino and light blue shirt. I added some color through the olive cotton blazer, which after looking at the pictures needs some decent tailoring. I priorly filled out the blazer a lot more, which I guess shows I've dropped some weight. I need to get it taken in so that it gives some better draping. Sleeves are too long but the jacket has functioning buttonholes, so we'll see about that one.

First time using the blogspot app; blogger, so lets see how it goes. Fairly warm day today, 75 degrees and bright sun. As many of us can relate it can say 75 but feel a good 3-5 degrees warmer in direct sunlight. With this in mind I kept cool with lightweight fabrics. Blazer which is part of a suit is a cotton/linen blend, trousers are a lightweight cotton and shirt is cotton as well.
