Recent Pick-Ups

Some pretty nice picks up in the last week and all for a great price. Gotta thank my friend Adrian for the ties, pocket squares and shoes in the first picture! He headed to the Michael Andrews Bespoke sample sale and found some amazing things, including a beautiful blue suit that fit him perfectly. I also managed to find some pretty awesome things at one of my favorite spot for basics, JC Penney. These navy shorts with this diamond pattern caught my eye and there is something about them that made me jump on them. Usually I'm not big on patters on shorts or trousers but these were too cool to pass up and the price was too good as well.

WDIW...2 Days Ago 7/28/13

My beautiful wife and I were originally going to go up to Storm King Art Center but considering we only had a few hours before they closed and the size of the place we decided to postpone it until this coming weekend. Instead we always wanted to look for the Cornwall trestle aka the Moodna Viaduct. The place is awesome, so we decided to take a few pics there, here are two with the trestle in the background.

Watch: Michael Kors Gunmetal Gray/Silver Multi Movement Watch-Anniversary Gift (last year)

Closet Necessities Part II

Shoe Trees! The important of shoe trees can not be understated. Their function is necessary to keeping your shoes looking as pristine as possible and in their longevity.

Their purpose is best described in the following three points:
1. They help keep the natural shape of your shoes.
2. They absorb sweat which keeps your shoes from smelling. Absorb water on those unexpected rainy days.
3. They keep your shoes smelling fresh. Cedar smells exceptionally awesome.

If you are by a Jos A. Bank, they have this deal until tomorrow Buy 1 Get 2 Free, so 3 for $25.

Back! Closet Necessities...

Hello! I apologize for the long hiatus but the last 3 weeks have been very busy! Spent some time with my wife's family, with my family, building furniture and between three states and two countries. To say the least taking WDIW pictures and updating the blog wasn't necessarily a priority. At one point I spent my day in a gray t-shirt and black shorts building furniture so not much of a WDIW post.

Any how, now back in NY and trying to get back into the swing of things. One of the first things I wanted to do once I came back home was to organize the closet a bit better. Closet necessities as I like to call it, one of those being wooden hangers. My wife and I have a decent array of blazers but with only a few proper hangers for them. I'll keep it simple you don't need to buy a $15-20 hanger for each jacket. Make sure that whatever wooden hanger you do purchase are wide and sturdy so that they keep your shoulders on your jacket as natural as possible to your shoulders. Plastic hangers simply do not fall into this category.

I headed to Ikea and bought their pack of 8 for $3.99, bought 2 sets, which 16 wooden hangers for $8 was not bad at all. Don't get me wrong these don't compare to my hangers from Michael Andrews Bespoke which have a bulbous end.

Vacation Posts #1...WDI Buy Before Vacation

Been MIA as I went on vacation with my wife and been back a couple of days but been busy with other things.

Before heading out decided to stop at Nordstrom Rack as I wanted some boat shoes for cheap. The tag read $25 well at the register they rang up for $5. They are by 14th & Union, one of Nordstrom's house brands I believe. Don't mind the squished up left shoe. The uppers are gray suede and the sole is solid rubber, laces are leather.

WDIWT...7/1/13

Huge miss today with the weather here in Florida today. Thought that it would be a lot like yesterday sunny and hot instead it was gray and rainy all day, with temperatures actually being very decent and bearable. I would have been better off in jeans and some actual closed shoes today but still it was comfortable.

Details:
Shirt: Old Navy White/Navy Striped S/S Dress Shirt-$10
Shorts: Club Room Navy 11" inseam Cotton via Macy's-$10
Shoes: Minnetonka Brown Suede Mocassins via eBay-$32
