I didn't post this yesterday because I wasn't really feeling too well, still aren't. In addition I was busy and took incredibly long to get home. The outfit was pretty basic but I did wear the same trousers from the suit on Monday (breaking up a Navy suit), threw on a white shirt and a gray cardigan. Not exceptional, but when I feel like crap I usually tend to not put much thought into what I wear.

It's been 12 years and I still remember that morning. To be living in NY now it's interesting to see how different that date is perceived here versus back home in Los Angeles. As a teacher you try to use teachable moments such as what happened 12 years ago but at the same time you start to realize that the students you are teaching were only 3-5 years old when that happened and most don't even remember that day.
Nonetheless, the color scheme of today wasn't purposely done as my shirt is red, white and blue, it just happened to be an interesting coincidence. It is way too hot for a jacket with temperatures rising to the mid 90s today and dropping by Saturday to the mid 60s.

The second attempt at showing the versatility of a Navy 3-piece suit by wearing the jacket as a separate. The great thing about a Navy suit is it's versatility. From wearing it all together to wearing it separately; whether it's pairing it up with khaki pants like I did today, some dark denim or some gray pants.
I've tried to stray away from talking about the weather in my posts but today it is a point I think I should make. Check the weather before you leave home or even before you get dressed. This afternoon to evening it will be in the low to mid 80s while this morning it was and is in the high 50s and low 60s with a light breeze. The cotton khakis and cotton shirt are a great way to stay cool during the day but the blazer was great for the pretty chilly morning.
*The shirt sleeves need to be shortened*

First full week back with our students! Not going to lie I really didn't have any desire for wearing a tie today so I went sans tie while still going with a full 3-piece. I've seen it done before and have always liked the look although some may find it "counter intuitive" to wear a 3 piece suit without a tie. Regardless, I like how it looked and already got compliments on it before our first class even starts. I will also be attempting to demonstrate the versatility of a 3 piece navy suit throughout the course of this week.
P.S. The weather in NYC is going to be all over the place this week. Today mid 40s in the morning with a high of 71, tomorrow low 80s, Wednesday 90 and thunderstorms and humidity I might add, Thursday 80 again, Friday high 60s to low 70s...fun.

Headed into the city today to go see The Trip to Bountiful with my wife. Great play and highly recommend it! I believe in dressing up when going to the theatre and still don't understand how guys go in a t-shirt, jeans and old sneakers to go see a play. I understand this even less when their significant other is dressed up in a dress and heels...to each their own I guess.

I usually don't wear a suit on days that are designated as Friday schedules. Being that it is Rosh Hashanah starting tonight, we are off tomorrow and on Friday. Friday schedules usually call for a more casually dressed atmosphere but being that we are also in our first week of school, it's not the time yet.
Today I wore what is by far one of my most interesting suits that I haven't worn since I got it. Actually just had a small back and forth in regards to whether the suit is Navy or Gray, it's navy and I'll post close up pictures of the fabric to prove it. Part of the fun of the suit is that, navy up close, gray from afar. I bought this suit about 2-3 months ago, probably closer to the 3 months and hadn't worn it until now. The sleeves need shortening a tad bit and the pants can use a taper, otherwise this is how it fits right off the rack.
