Today was another 90 degree day. Worked today as I went to proctor an exam. Frankly I wish I would have worn anything but jeans as it became uncomfortable once outside in this heat. In addition I organized my ties with some bins from Dollar Tree and took out some short sleeve shirts and shorts from storage bins; no pics of the shirts.

Headed out to the Walkway Over the Hudson yesterday, on a really beautiful day. It was windy up there but still nice enough to go without a sweater. Kept it simple, dark denim, white short sleeve dress shirt and Tom's.

WDIWT...4/27/13 And My Wife!

For the first time ever, my wife is on my blog! She was game for her to be in a post especially considering the t-shirt she was wearing "I'm With Beast" I think she's had that t-shirt for a few years and this is the first time she wore it. I might start featuring her outfits in the blog as we both like dressing well but doing it on a budget, with the exception of a couple of items (check for a post on that later tonight probably lol).

Tom's Burgundy Classic Woolen Slip-On

I've been eyeing these since I first saw them in store at Journey's. Almost ordered them a couple a weeks back but held off. At $54 they are still a great price and considering they give a pair to those in need it is even better. It's something about the rich burgundy color that drew them to me. I'm a fan of the woolen line with the fleece lining inside as it allows me to wear them even on those not so warm Spring days, the wool upper helps with that too. Journey's currently has these for $29.99 plus tax, great price!

Another one of those it's Spring but it still feels like Fall kind of days. The wind is nowhere near as bad as yesterday but still cool enough to warrant a sweater. Granted, after a while you can start feeling warm, which is why layering is great and having the appropriate layers is important. With the sun the way it is, the short sleeve shirt is handy.

My "Lazy Man" Uniform

Some times it may be easier to throw on some basketball shorts, a t-shirt and some sneakers to run some simple, quick errands or some times it is just easier to throw that on because one doesn't want to look for what to wear. I personally don't like heading out to run some errands (especially if I am going to a public space such as mall), in basketball shorts, t-shirt and sneakers, unless it's a quick 5-10 minute thing and I'm already in them. What I've found myself doing is going to one specific outfit when having to run out to do some errands, knowing it'll be more at least 20-30 minutes and a public area. You've seen me wear it before as I've likely posted something similar, but here are how it looked today.

I think I may have worn it last weekend to do the same come to think of it. I usually only change the footwear, depending on the weather. Last week they were loafers, today they were Toms.

Two Different Outfits for Today...3/30/13

The first outfit I changed into after I came back from the gym and showered, as I was heading to the bank with my parents. The blazer is a new pick up from JCP from their Stafford Prep line. While there my good friend sent me a text if I wanted to go to the Dodger game which I said yes too, so I got home and changed into something a bit more casual. Don't be surprised if I recycle the first outfit posted tomorrow since I didn't wear it more than 2 hours.

WDIW...2 Days Ago (I Think)

Quick post, wore this a couple of day ago I believe. Just want to point out what a well fitting jacket can do, especially when you are wearing a not so well fitting shirt. In this case the shirt needs to be taken in, probably darted but I haven't gotten around to doing it. As the saying goes, a properly fitting jacket can hide an ill-fitting shirt.

Another Pair of Tom's

Tom's get a lot of heat for being feminine and many think or assume that they are incredibly uncomfortable. Frankly, I think Tom's are one of the few unisex shoes that can be worn by both men or women and not be considered more feminine or more masculine, they tend to fall down the middle with some exceptions of course (glitter Tom's for example). I got these at Nordstrom's for $35 with tax. As I mentioned in the post before I had bought these in the past and exchanged them for a different pair. Ironically, I still haven't worn the pair I bought that I exchanged these in the past (different store, city and state), but busted these out no more than 2 days after buying them. Tom's are already relatively cheap at $45-$52, and at $32+tax, these were worth it. Considering I only packed two pairs of shoes, both brown, these were a welcome addition to the wardrobe.

I headed out to Nordstrom's to pick up a pair of Tom's for $35...actually it's a pair I had purchased before at Journey's and exchanged them for another pair I liked more. Nonetheless, I kept it simple, dark denim, white/gray micro-check shirt, same brown jacket from the day before and brown wool Tom's.

Tom's Tom's Tom's Tom's...(In the Tums Jingle Way)

I had originally bought the Gray Tweed looking Tom's but I honestly completely forgot that I even had them. During Black Friday I saw that they had a Black, really more Charcoal Wool pair with sherpa lining on the inside. Considering the weather, these are appropriate for the time of year, yet still the shoes are breathable enough that they don't make your feet warm during the spring or summer. Definitely size up on these, as the sherpa lining adds to a usually easy fit.

Many will argue that Tom's are feminine but frankly it's all about how you wear them and how you carry yourself. Although my wife has the same pair; I'm pretty sure, it's what you wear it with that will determine how feminine or masculine they look.

A Pair of Tom's and Aldo's

Not too long ago, at least on NikeTalk's dressing better thread, the topic regarding Tom's and espradille's being worn by men came up. Some people felt that shoes like Tom's are only for women while many others did not. Personally, I do not think that they're feminine, but I do think they are one of the few unisex shoes out there.

The Aldo's are canvas and are in grayish/green hue and the Tom's are in a Brown wool lined by fleece, keeping your feet warm during those chilly evenings.
