WDIW...Thursday 6/13/14

I intended to wear my navy grenadine tie from the knottery with this particular suit and shirt combination but didn't get a chance too once we heard of delays 2 hour delays to cross the George Washington Bridge. 

This suit is from when SuitSupply had their online outlet open. It was a great steal at $259 especially considering that it is a pattern that I don't have, wide pinstripe. I really should wear it more than I do now.

This is also the maiden voyage for my new ModernTailor shirt, a pink/white pin dot which looks solid from a far.

Wearing a donegal tweed jacket seems kind of silly today as it hit 71 by 2pm today but considering when I left home it was about 53 and windy, it was appropriate for the weather. 

This is probably one of my favorite go to outfits when dressing down or casually and I still want to throw on a jacket/blazer. It's a simple look, navy casual shirt with white polka dots, navy v-neck sweater and a brown tweed jacket paired with navy blue bottoms. I've worn a variation of this with navy corduroy's here and a lighter brown jacket here with a dark sweater.

I can finally wear a jacket all day and not feel like I'm sweating! Went with a few different colors in the mix today, including one bright one, red. Looking at my donegal tweed jacket that I'm wearing with it now, it happens to be one of the colors of the specks in the donegal tweed.

WDIW...Yesterday 10/13/13

Had a great weekend overall! Yesterday I hung out with my NikeTalk brother and friend Adrian and we hit up a couple of thrift spots that he frequents. Definitely have to say that I found some great items (pictures of that tomorrow) but in short I found a $700 Brooks Brothers BrooksStorm jacket for $25 and a Bespoke overcoat that was hardly worn if ever, for $12.50. This guy had to spend at least a grand on it at some point I'm sure.

Nonetheless, we met up and met up with a friend of ours who works at Nordstrom, G. Gotta try and get one of those pictures sent to me by Adrian, I'll update the entry then as well. We didn't call each other but essentially we both wore tweed jackets, gingham shirts and denim. Good thing I didn't wear my double monks, I did think about wearing them though.

WDIWT....08/20/13 Birthday Edition

I must admit that this is the first birthday in a good while that I was excited about and I gotta say it was a really good birthday. Treated myself to a new bespoke suit and a couple of shirts from Michael Andrews Bespoke and with the heat definitely went light with what I wore today. I also dropped off the jacket from my Indochino at The Tailoring Room in SoHo, I have a good feeling about the work they do.

Second, what my new bespoke order. This is the first time I actually did something for my birthday and that was order a suit for myself. I wanted a 3 piece donegal tweed suit and here is what I went with. In addition I got 2 shirts as Michael Andrews Bespoke is running a promotion during the month where you get 2 free shirts with any suit order, a $500 savings.

Nice cool down today and somewhat breezy as well. The sun was nice and bright not letting us forget that summer is still here. It is important to have light knit layers for those chilly Spring and Summer days. Layering is great and adds another dimension to your outfit.

Went with a combination of three colors, blue, brown and gray.

Some pretty nice picks up in the last week and all for a great price. Gotta thank my friend Adrian for the ties, pocket squares and shoes in the first picture! He headed to the Michael Andrews Bespoke sample sale and found some amazing things, including a beautiful blue suit that fit him perfectly. I also managed to find some pretty awesome things at one of my favorite spot for basics, JC Penney. These navy shorts with this diamond pattern caught my eye and there is something about them that made me jump on them. Usually I'm not big on patters on shorts or trousers but these were too cool to pass up and the price was too good as well.
