Mother-nature decided to throw us a curve-ball on Thursday and drop the temperature from 55 on Wednesday to about 25 on Thursday, layering was necessary. My nephews were also in town from LA so I went and met them at the National History museum in the city. I had a hat on before this picture hence the hair…sorry.

Boots Part 3: The Desert/Chukka Boot

The Desert Boot also known as Chukka boots come in different shapes, which at times can blur the line between casual and dressy. The Desert boot which has a much more rounded toe, pretty much half circle and usually have a crepe sole, is a much more casual boot. The Chukka which usually has a more pointed but round toe can double as both dressy and a casual boot.

Again, below are a couple of examples of chukka/desert boots that I own, where I got them and what I paid.

Desert/Chukka Boot #1-LandsEnd Brown Suede Desert Boot from LandsEnd $27

Desert/Chukka Boot #2-LandsEnd Bone Suede Desert/Chukka Boot from eBay $32
A perfect example of that blurred line

Desert/Chukka Boot #3-Kenneth Cole Brown Suede Chukka Boot from eBay $50

Desert/Chukka Boot #4-Joseph Abboud Gray Suede Chukka Boot from Nordstrom Rack $40
Pair on the right obviously

Boots Line-Up

One of the great things about winter is different options you have in regards to dressing. In addition, the shoe options expand. This is my boot line up and it's a line up that will likely will see some wearing this fall and winter. Will be posting some more of my favorites in the next couple of days.

From Left to Right:
Cole Haan Winter Boots, 1901 Brown Suede Wingtip Boots, LandsEnd MocToe, Cole Haan Leather Wingtip Boots, Magnanni Pinto Wingtip Boots, Stafford Wingtip Boots, LandsEnd Brown Desert Boot, Joseph Abboud Gray Desert Boot.

I'll post more detailed shots of them throughout the week, with where I got them, how much I paid, and how to care for them.

How Suede It Is!

I LOVE SUEDE SHOES! I think they are just some of the nicest dress shoes out there and they add a nice little change to the usual leather shoes you see on your typical man.

For example, the dark brown cap toe suede shoes (the one with the shoe tress), third from the right, I wear those usually to either change it up from the "typical" brown leather shoes or to add a little "weight" to a fall look, by pairing with corduroys or a heavy wool suit. The brown boots to the left are by far one of my favorites as well  and were a steal at about $60 from Nordstrom Rack, by Nordstrom's own brand 1901. Wingtip suede boots, that I usually wear with jeans to dress them up a little or some cords as well. Then you have my bucks which I must admit have not gotten much wear and should have this past spring and summer. The 2 shoes to the right of the bucks I haven't worn yet but one is a nice rust color suede wingtip and the other a chocolate brown cap toe, both by Cole Haan. My favorite pair is the gray chukka boots by Joseph Abboud, VERY versatile and look great with everything, a steal from NR for about $60 as well (I think I bought both boots the same day).

Will try and post some separate shoots of each with some old what did you wear's.  Missing from the pic: two brown suede shoes from LandsEnd, a pair of loafers and desert boots. The boots are a recent pick up, the loafers I completely forgot to take them out and snap a pic.
