WDIWT...9/4/13

I usually don't wear a suit on days that are designated as Friday schedules. Being that it is Rosh Hashanah starting tonight, we are off tomorrow and on Friday. Friday schedules usually call for a more casually dressed atmosphere but being that we are also in our first week of school, it's not the time yet.

Today I wore what is by far one of my most interesting suits that I haven't worn since I got it. Actually just had a small back and forth in regards to whether the suit is Navy or Gray, it's navy and I'll post close up pictures of the fabric to prove it. Part of the fun of the suit is that, navy up close, gray from afar. I bought this suit about 2-3 months ago, probably closer to the 3 months and hadn't worn it until now. The sleeves need shortening a tad bit and the pants can use a taper, otherwise this is how it fits right off the rack.

Details:
Suit: J. Crew Factory Thompson Navy Pindot Cotton Suit via J. Crew Factory Store-$130 (50% off sale)
Shirt: Merona White Cotton L/S Dress Shirt via Target-$23+alterations
Tie: No Name Navy Knit Tie via eBay-$5
Shoes: Aston Grey Brown Suede Wingtips via eBay-$35
Pocket Square: Get Squared Navy/White Stitching Cotton Square via GetSquared on Etsy-$5
Socks: Merona Grey/Bananas Cotton via Target-Gift

Yes it's navy, notice the jacket sleeve in the sunlight, out of the sunlight (pant leg) it looks gray...

They Say It's Spring But It Feels Like Winter

Spring officially started yesterday and well coming in at a warm 34 degrees in New York City is not my or anyone's definition of Spring. This coupled with the fact that is our professional day for our spirit day at work aka students must come dressed professionally, I decided to wear my 3 piece Indochino tweed suit. One if meets the spirit day criteria of professional day, however, everyday I dress professionally in my opinion. Most importantly I wore the 3-piece because frankly it's warm. The tweed already makes it a warmer than usual outfit, the fact that it's a 3-piece makes it even warmer by the waistcoat adding that additional layer of warmth. I kept the rest simple, with different hues of blue.

Actually let me mention the best part of it, no pocket square is more than $6.50, the 2 limited edition ones, all others are only $5...again with FREE SHIPPING, no code or anything needed.

Being that it is a small business the selection is limited but Chad sticks to the basics. The 6 options are as follows: (click on any of them and it'll take you straight to Get Squared's page)
